Cheek Family History

Our branch of the Cheek family started with George Cheek. His wife's name was Leanna.

George and Leanna emigrated from Winchester, Virginia to Indiana in 1801 and settled in Tanners Creek near the fork of the Indianapolis and Aurora Road.

Page who was born on July 30, 1784 and died on May 7, 1833. He was married to Nancy Long. She was born on March 28, 1788 and died on February 22, 1862. Page was a wealthy slave owner and noted for his hospitality and generosity. (An interesting note about Page - He started the 1833 Cholera Epidemic.)

They had a daughter by the name of Nancy Jane. Nancy J. was married to William Winings.
They had three children, Secreta J., Wilson W. and Scott.

Huldah was born on March 24, 1811 in Wheeling, Ohio/WV. She married Samuel Osgood on March 18, 1830. She died at her home in Urbana Ill at the age of 79 years.
